The ACX6360 Universal Metro Router is an integral part of our converged and automated metro fabric solutions. It simplifies the complexity between the two domains by consolidating the packet optical transport and IP/MPLS network layers into a seamless multi-layer solution with a single pane of glass view into the network.

The 1.6 TB ACX6360 is built in a programmable photonic layer design powered by an ExpressPlus chip running at 3.6 Tbps. It is optimized for disaggregated and open wire architectures, providing unique scalability, density, security and flexibility. The ACX6360 combines IP fiber convergence, 100GbE aggregation, and 100G/200G dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) coherent transport into a 1 U stackable platform. Its space- and power-saving design supports Metro, Data Center Interconnect (DCI), and Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) applications.

The ACX6360 provides secure transmissions based on IEEE 802.1AE encryption, 802.1X authentication, and industry-standard 256AES MACsec encryption. It provides modern automation and telemetry tools through Junos OS to comply with cloud-scale routing principles.

Two platform configuration modes are available for you to choose:

• A repeater mode like a muxponder that maps client interfaces to line optical ports;

• Label-switched routing mode, which forwards traffic from any-to-any interface, enabling statistical multiplexing benefits.

Pushing the boundaries of capacity and flexibility, the ACX6360 supports 20 QSFP28 100GbE pluggable client interfaces and 8 CFP2-DCO 100G/200G pluggable coherent DWDM interfaces. This method supports flexible selection of DP-QPSK, DP-8QAM and DP-16QAM modulations.
